Autograph letter signed, dated : Avignon May 8 1845, to M. Salvator, 1845 May 8.

Recalling with pleasure the time they spent together the previous autumn, complaining of the absurd pretentions and "la sotte apathie d'intelligence" of most of the young pianists who have followed Liszt's route, saying that without assiduous and persevering studies it is impossible to attain a conscience worthy of itself, and that without that conscience, founded on an honorable character, there is for the artist neither present nor future, adding that he has written to St. Rieul of his summer projects, that Boisselot's pianos increasingly justify their reputation and that if Louis Boisselot passes through Bordeaux Salvator should meet him, etc.
